Supporting VICTA

Justin Brownlee, the Managing Director of Hugo Forbes has first-hand experience of the great work VICTA do.

His daughter, Eden was born in March 2007 with congenital bilateral cataract. Eden underwent the first of her 9 operations at Great Ormond Street Hospital at the age of 3 weeks. The cataracts have been removed and she visits GOSH every six months for regular tests and investigate ways to potentially improve her vision.

The support VICTA provides to the blind and partially sighted children, young people and their families is invaluable. VICTA also provides a platform where parents can create a support network and share their experiences. It can be a very daunting time for the families too.

Eden enjoys ski-ing, rock climbing and horse riding (when she is not on her i-pad). All made possible by the great work of these charities to expand her horizons, encourage her and enable her to manage and overcome her own challenges.

As a family, the Brownlee's feel very fortunate to have benefited from their great work. Hugo Forbes would like to make sure others facing similar challenges get the right support and help too.
